About Us

Professional Plating Services, as the name suggests, was originally founded in 1974 to supply expertise and product to the electroplating and polishing industry. Initially, Mike Evans began mixing chemicals in his parent’s garage in Mangere before being joined by longtime friend Denis Blagden. Together the two established the business and in 1977 moved into more suitable premises. Also in 1977, with home shores calling, Denis headed back to the UK, leaving the day to day running of the business in Mikes hands.

Since then the company have moved into a larger, purpose built building and undergone a name change (1996 Professional Plating Servies became PPS Industries Ltd) to encompass the ever expanding product range. We are now an industry leader in the distribution of abrasives, engineering supplies, chemicals, cutting oils & coolants, polishing products as well as a large range of consumables for the metal finishing industry.

Today PPS Industries Ltd is still owned and run by the two families with the second generation taking up the helm. We still believe the best way to solve a problem is to be there, in-person, for a face-to-face conversation to better understand your business needs.
